This is a non-regulation, right facing, brown leather holster made for revolvers. Likely for a .36 caliber “Navy” or a .31 caliber “Pocket” model.

The holster “pocket” measures 9.75” along its front edge. Holster is made of a single piece of brown bridle leather, folded and sewn along the back seam with the large flap also folded over. A narrow belt loop is riveted to the back. The leather closing tab is an extension of the flap and remains complete and unbroken. The tab “tucks” through a leather loop sewn in place. Back edge of flap and upper edge of pocket feature tooled edge and decorative diamond-shape stamps.

Belt loop is approximately 0.95” wide and will fit a 2” wide belt; attached by rivets at top and bottom. Bottom nose cap remains tightly sewn in place. There are no maker’s stamps.

In overall very good condition with light crazing; this holster shows use. A pistol “outline” remains visible on the pocket. Leather is supple and the stitching is complete.

This is a good, civilian flap holster that would accommodate a Civil War-era revolver.   [jet][ph:L]
