Offered here is an early scabbard for a triangular socket bayonet. Black bridle leather scabbard measures 15.5” long with unbroken sewn seam all the way down and closing the tip. The leather shows some cracking and light scuffing but remains solid.

Sewn to the throat of the scabbard is a nicely woven, wool shoulder sling. Sling is 2” wide and reaches approximately 21” from scabbard top to shoulder. Overall, the sling material remains good. The problem is a few mouse chews; numerous small holes overall with two larger chewed areas at the throat of the scabbard.
