Pair of simple, utilitarian lady’s undersleeves made from finely woven white cotton. One sleeve has the red stripes and change in weave pattern where the fabric yardage would have been cut to be sold in shorter pieces. While very practical, the under sleeves have exquisite construction details: very tiny stroke gathers where the sleeve joins the cuff, beautifully worked hand-sewn button holes made to be worn with sleeve links, narrow hem at the top sewn at 14 stitches/inch. Cuffs are heavily starched. [ph:L]
