This American solid coin silver ladle measuring 6 ¾” in length was made by John Erwin of Baltimore, MD. The only time and place in the U.S. where hallmarks were required on silver was in Baltimore during the years of 1814 to 1830; those present on the reverse of the handle indicate a date of 1817.

Engraved with a script letter “W” on the handle. Overall very nice condition. Some minor dings in the bowl, which measures 2 1/8” in diameter.  [ld][ph:L]
