Items like these are a rarity because they were items that soldiers created for themselves to help take their minds off the atrocities that lay ahead. “Trench Art” as some would call it were created by soldiers, prisoners of war, and civilians from objects like shell/bullet casings, objects from debris, etc. Trench Art is most commonly related to WWI but the concept goes years before the Great War and can be dated to the Greco/Roman Eras.
This is a wooden ring with a cannon carved on the top by a soldier. The ring is approximately size 9.
A very interesting find to recover an item that a soldier created in the thick of war. [MK][PH:L]
