Oval shaped image on the usual paper mount shows an unidentified Confederate captain wearing a dark frock coat buttoned up to the throat. Clearly visible on his collar are the three horizontal bars of a captain.
Contrast and clarity are good. The mount and paper have a mix of surface dirt and foxing. However, none of these obscures the image.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint which covers the entire back of the card. It reads in part G. T. WILLIAMS… COLUMBUS, GA.” [ad] [ph:L]
