Contrast and clarity are good. Mount has clipped corners. Mont and paper have moderate surface dirt.

Drake is carried on the rolls as Levi E. Drake. He was born in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1843 and enlisted in the 52nd on February 29, 1864. He was promoted to corporal November 6, 1864 and mustered out at Harrisburg on July 12, 1865.
Not much is known of Drake’s post-war life other than he married and raised three children. He died at New Albany, Pennsylvania on December 12, 1915 and is buried in Laddsburg Cemetery in Laddsburg, Pennsylvania.
During the time Drake was with the 52nd they saw action at Charleston, Fort Johnson, James Island, Johns Island, Fort Putnam and Fort Wagner. [ad][ph:L]
