A fine cdv photograph of the two, both very well dressed. Appears to be a second-generation image “photo of a photo.” Image retains good contrast and is on a plain mount. There is no photographer’s backmark.

Charles Sherwood Stratton (January 4, 1838 – July 15, 1883), better known by his stage name "General Tom Thumb", was an American with dwarfism who achieved great fame as a performer under circus pioneer P. T. Barnum. He achieved international fame through his performances in Barnum's shows. Stratton's height was likely never more than 3 feet 4 inches.

In 1863, he married Lavinia Warren, also a little person, making front-page news. The wedding took place at Grace Episcopal Church, and the wedding reception was held at New York City's Metropolitan Hotel for some 10,000 guests.  [jet][ph:L]
