CDV is an oval bust view of an unidentified bearded Confederate soldier wearing a medium-colored jacket with a dark collar. It is most likely a shell jacket as nine small buttons are visible down the front. There is what looks to be a white stripe on the side of his collar but under magnification this proves to be a defect in the paper.
Contrast and clarity are very good. Mount has clipped corners. Mount and paper have light scattered surface dirt.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for LARCOMBE… NASHVILLE, TENN.
