CDV is of a soldier in his early to mid-twenty’s wearing a light-colored shell jacket with a dark high collar with matching piping running down the front placket along the edge of the buttonholes. Jacket does not have any epaulettes. The jacket is buttoned only at the throat revealing a darker colored military vest beneath.

Clarity is good but the contrast is a bit light. Paper has been trimmed to fit into a printed frame and then glued to the mount. Paper is very clean while the mount has some light surface dirt.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for D. W. CURTIS… WASHINGTON, D.C.

Image is from the collection of the late William A. Turner.  [ad] [PH:L]
