CDV shows a soldier seated and holding a dark slouch hat with cord in his lap. He wears a dark Zouave style jacket with a low collar with piping around the base and then running down the front of the jacket. Buttons are small and appear to be cuff sized down the front. The subject wears corporal’s chevrons with a veteran’s stripe on the cuff above a short galloon. On his left chest he wears a seven-pointed star similar to an 8th Corps badge. He also wears matching dark trousers with and exposed watch chain.
Clarity is good. Contrast is a bit grainy. Mount and paper are in good condition.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for G. W. BEAL… NATICK. [ad][ph:L]
