Image shows a small two-story house with a yard surrounded by a white picket fence. The house has a chimney at rear with a summer kitchen off to the side. There are also several small out buildings.
Image clarity and contrast is good. Mount and paper have moderate surface dirt. Bottom of mount has 1862 publication date.
Reverse has a printed label with caption that reads “BRADY’S ALBUM GALLERY NO. 317 – THORBURN’S HOUSE, USED AS A HOSPITAL BY THE FEDERAL TROOPS ON 21ST JULY 1861.” This is followed by more publishing information and a description of the series that the image is part of. [ad][ph:L]
