This carte-de-visite image features a smartly-dressed musician of the militia variety, cradling his horn and seated in a velvet and silk chair.
The image is mounted to a plain card with a double-gold gilt border. Very light edge wear is noted. The reverse is clean but shows some muted surface wear, and features a “MUNDY & WILLAIMS SUCCESSOR TO W. J. BAKE’S Photographic Studio, 12 Tibbitts’ Block, Utica, N. Y.” back mark.
A nice photograph for the Civil War era or military musician image collector. [cm][ph:L]
