Waist-up view of a young man approx. 18 years old wearing a dark civilian suit with white shirt and dark bowtie and sporting a pompadour type haircut with a tuft of curled hair on top.
Contrast and clarity are excellent. Image has the usual stamped brass mat and decorative frame.
Image is housed in a union case that is decorated on the exterior with a central oval surrounded by scrollwork, flowers, lineal decorations and geometric shapes. At center of the oval is a rendering of a single turreted Monitor class vessel with a flag flying from the bow anchored below a stone fort which also has a flying flag. Case is in excellent condition and free of any cracks or chips. [ad] [ph:L]
