This is a waist-up seated view of a woman and man with a small dog sitting on the man’s lap. The woman is wearing a dark colored dress with white collar and cuffs, as well as a brooch and ear bobs. The man is wearing a dark colored frock coat, vest and white shirt.

Image is clear with very good contrast. Some very slight oxidation has occurred.

Image comes housed in full pressed paper case, which is in good condition but has split. Case is lined in faded red velvet with an embossed design. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image.

This ambrotype was part of a unique collection of images that featured animals.    [sl] [ph:L]
