Tintype image of armed French soldier in zouave uniform. He wears kepi, fitted coat, baggy pantaloons, and white gaiters. He holds a rifle at his side and has a saber bayonet hanging from his waist belt. Two medals on his chest. Full standing studio view with painted backdrop.

Typical cased photo with brass mat, glass, and brass frame. Housed in a thermo-plastic “hard” case. Matching halves of case feature scene of a gentleman addressing two women; a horse in background and dog in foreground.

The case has several cracks and breaks that have been poorly repaired. Inside velvet has damage at top hinge. Despite damage, case still opens and closes, and will definitely still display well.  [jet] [ph:L]
