Nice clear tintype of a seated Union soldier posed with his hands resting in his lap. He wears a dark forage cap with a quatrefoil on the crown, dark frock coat with gold gilt buttons and light trousers.
Contrast and clarity are excellent. There are some faint creases to the tin, but they can only be seen at an angle and do not detract from the image. We were unable to get a good photo of them as overhead lighting and camera flash obscured them.
Image comes with decorative brass mat and stamped brass frame.
Cloth case shows light wear, especially on the spine. [ad][ph:L]
