Offered here is a 1/6 plate tintype image of armed and equipped Union soldier in half hard thermos-plastic case.
Image is of a standing Union soldier posing before a photographer’s plain canvas backdrop. Soldier wears regulation 9-button frock coat, infantry accoutrements, and is holding a musket with bayonet. He wears a regulation forage cap.
Image is slightly dark but details remain visible. Tin shows a few minor bends which do not affect the photo. Oval mat features a patriotic design with flags and other military pieces and reads “CONSTITUTION AND UNION.” The (half) hard thermo-plastic case is in good condition with geometric design.
