Excellent clear view taken on Antietam Creek looking upstream over a dam toward one of the stone bridges crossing the creek. The dam is believed to have powered Newcomer’s Mill which was owned by the Orndorff family.
The view has good contrast and clarity. Image is mounted on heavy rose-colored stock
Reverse has a handwritten period ink caption that reads “DAM ON ANTIETAM CREEK NEAR SHARPSBURG.”
Photographer is unknown. [ad] [ph:L]
