Yellow mount with images of the town of Amherst’s Civil War Soldiers’ monument. Images are light but clear. Unknown photographer. Pen & ink inscription on reverse lists all soldier’s names and regiments that are on monument as well as the comment “Dr. Aiken’s house behind the monument on the left, Amherst, N.H.”  Card is in good condition overall.  [jet][PH:L]

PRESENTATION AMES MODEL 1850 FOOT OFFICER’S SWORD OF LT. CORNELIUS BATCHELDER, 12th MASS, DATED JUNE 17, 1863, JUST TWO WEEKS BEFORE HE WAS WOUNDED AT GETTYSBURG!
