Here is an excellent example of the largest size of the Confederate Gardner pattern bullet. With typical two-groove Gardner characteristics, but in .69 caliber. Nose cast with shallow cone cavity. Measures 1.145” tall and .690” in diameter.
Gardner held Confederate States Patent #12 for his machine that formed the unique Gardner cartridge.
