This is a cone style ink well with a raised spout. Unglazed stoneware.

There is a large chip in the spout and a closed crack running from the bottom and up the side. Otherwise it is in good condition. Bottom surface looks to have imprint of the wood wheel it was spun on.

Recovered near Orange, Virginia.    [jet] [ph:L]
