Offered here is an iron tube that was used in the .58 caliber, Union Repeating Gun (aka Coffee Mill gun, Agar).  Paper cartridges were loaded into these reusable iron chambers.  The chamber features a percussion cap nipple on the closed end.  Once loaded and capped, these pieces were placed into a “hopper” on top of the weapon. A hand crank operated the gun. The fired tubes tumbled out the left side of the gun to be collected and reloaded.

Measures approximately 2.9” long x 0.95” in diameter. Original percussion nipple remains in place on closed end. In rusty, “dug” condition. Unloaded.  These are an uncommon item to find and will be a great addition to any Civil War weapon or ammunition collection.  [jet] [ph:L]
