This item is a “bullet in wood”. This being a fired Civil War bullet that struck a tree, and this is what has survived after 150+ years. Smashed lead bullet shows good profile with grooves on the body. Interesting view with smashed wood grain around the bullet. Piece measures 22” x 5” x 2” overall and has been heavily varnished.
