Here is a small collection of lead round balls recovered at Shiloh. There are six .69 caliber round musket balls and two .54 caliber round pistol balls. One of the large musket balls is marked “Fraley Field.”
Fraley Field on the battlefield is where the opening shots of the Battle of Shiloh took place.
Acquired from Ron Shealer collection in Gettysburg; who purchased these from Dr. Gerald R. Hovater of Henderson, TN. [jet] [ph:L]
