Recovered near New Boston/Camp Robinson’s Farm, in New York, by Dean Thomas.

Camp Robinson's Farm (also known as New Boston) is in the Hudson Highlands of New York. This was one of the largest camps of the American Revolution with troops mostly from Connecticut and Massachusetts and occupied between 1778 and 1780. The Robinson house was where Benedict Arnold was headquartered and where he also later committed treason. This site was first excavated by the Field Exploration Committee (Calver & Bolton) of The New York Historical Society around 1920. There were thousands of encampments during the war but this was one of the largest and most important due to its geographical location. Dean Thomas and Wendell Lang hunted here in the 1980s with the landowner’s permission.  [jet] [ph:L]
