This is the spearhead section only from a broken lance. The piece meas. approx. 38.50 inches long overall.

The iron point of the spearhead itself is double edged with a raised ridge on each side causing the it to be diamond shaped in cross section. Point meas. approx. 10.50 inches long with a small bend in the tip.

The spearhead attaches to a wooden pole by a hollow shaft in its base flanked by two long langets. One is longer than the other. The longer langet is approx. 23.00 inches long and has holes for four rivets to anchor the spearhead to the shaft. Two of the four rivets are present. The shorter flange has three iron loops for attaching a pennant.

A section of the wooden shaft remains between the two langets.  [ad][ph:L]
