“Dug” US cartridge box plate for the outer flap of the infantry cartridge pouch. Large “US” in the center of the plate. The face remains smooth with a fine dark patina. There are some dings and dents, especially around edges on left and right ends.
Lead fill in the back is decent except for the left and right ends that appear to have been “straightened.” The wire loops are gone. Written on the lead in black marker is “HOWLETT LINE / BERMUDA HUMDRED, VA. / 6-5-66”. [jet] [ph:L]
