Lovely condition original plume, as intended for the m1858 US Dress Hat – often referred to as the Hardee or Davis hat.

As per regulation, this example features a double layer of feathers, stitched together with black cotton thread. Color is black given to a natural brown with a strong quill for attachment.

Perfect for the unadorned dress hat or as part of a Civil War headgear and accessory collection.  [cm][ph:L]
