Sky-blue ribbon meas. approx. 2.00 x 6.25 inches with black lettering that reads “GOLDEN, ILL. OCTOBER 18, 1893. 7TH ANNUAL REUNION 50TH ILL. INFANTRY. ONE COUNTRY AND ONE FLAG. AMERICA AND OLD GLORY FOREVER.” Text has filigree type decoration across top and bottom.

Ribbon is in good condition with light to moderate surface dirt.

The 50th Illinois Infantry was organized in September of 1861 and served in the Department of Tennessee and were engaged at Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Corinth, Resaca, Dallas, Allatoona and Bentonville. They suffered a loss of 2 officers and 189 men died of wounds and disease plus many others wounded but survived.  [ad] [ph:L]
