“34th ANNUAL / REUNION / 20th O.V.V.I. / COLUMBUS, OHIO / Thursday, Sept. 2nd, / 1909”. Cream colored ribbon, 1 7/8” x 9”, adorned with a bust of Colonel Charles Whittlesey & 17th Corps Arrow. Crisp and attractive; one small split through the word “Columbus”.

The 20th Ohio Infy. was mustered as a 3-year regiment in the autumn of 1861, and was attached to the western Army of the Tennessee. It participated and was engaged in the Battle of Ft. Donelson, Corinth, champion’s Hill, and the Siege of Vicksburg, the Atlanta Campaign and Sherman’s March to the Sea and through the Carolinas, concluding at the Battle of Bentonville and Gen. Johnston’s Confederate surrender at the Bennet House. During service the unit lost 89 killed and mortally wounded and 271 to disease for a total of 360.
