The 1894 Pittsburgh GAR souvenir spoon commemorates the 28th National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic held in September 1894. It features a detailed Civil War soldier handle and an inscribed bowl, with some variants uniquely cast from melted cannons.

The spoon depicts a two-sided, full-figure Union Civil War soldier (styled after a Springfield Rifle-Musket motif), with the back embossed with "U.S.A.".  The spoon measures 5.6” in length and shows mild age toning.

The 28th National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from September 10–15, 1894 and roughly 100,000 Union veterans and visitors converged on the city for the massive reunion.
