This was located just forward of the B17 / B24 bomber vertical and horizontal stabilizers with one facing the port hole on each side of the plane. It held the ANM2 50 Cal machine gun in place for defense of the bomber against enemy fighters. This E-13 mount is in good condition but is missing the nomenclature plate, top trigger/gunsight plate, and the bracket supports for the pintle mount. There is also a weld repair on each forward fork/tube which is hardly noticeable and sturdy. The forks have good recoil spring action. These mounts are hard to find, and one would make an excellent display with a dummy ANM2 Browning machine gun installed for one’s collection.  [am][ph:L]
