Good condition, retains most of original gilt, brass Civil War era patriotic match safe. The case has the war eagle clutching Union shield and a scroll. Ivy and ribbons surround the eagle motif. It has a hinged top with lid and striker on the bottom. The safe measures 2 ½” tall and ½” wide. The safe was used by soldiers to keep matches dry in their haversacks. [mk] [ph:L]
